Recently while doing a seminar, I met a gentleman named Mike who runs a ranch for troubled kids in Texas.
He told me about a conversation that he’d had with a friend of his. They were talking about God when Mike asked the man how he wanted God to look at him.
The man said,
“You know when you’ve got to cut a piece of meat—like a thick slab of steak or a big roast and you have that ‘one knife’ in the drawer that you want to use? I want to be ‘that knife’ that God reaches for.”
What a great thought—we become so useful to God that he reaches for us to do the big jobs!
Here are a couple of interesting questions for you to ponder:
- How do you become that kind of a person?
- How do you get your will out of the way so that you know when God wants to use you in a situation and you actually obey Him.
Definitely food for thought . . .
